I trialled Luxuriant’s Female Protection Shampoo and Conditioner
Rich in natural extracts and oils, the protection shampoo and conditioner is designed to protect your hair from whatever the world wants to throw at it. It works to prevent hair loss, clear itchy scalps, strengthen hair follicles and stimulate new hair growth.
My experience using Luxuriant Female Protection Shampoo and Conditioner:
The delightful smell was the first thing I noticed about the shampoo and conditioner. Sometimes (or a lot of the time), products designed to make your scalp healthier have a medicinal fragrance which never feels like a treat to use. Luxuriant’s shampoo and conditioner make for a much nicer experience with its natural perfume of cantaloupe.
As anyone already trying to regrow hair or relieve an irritated scalp will know, it’s not a 2-minute process. Both the shampoo and conditioner need between 3-5 minutes to allow absorption into the scalp. But, it’s worth it for the gorgeous hair benefits a healthier scalp provides!
The shampoo lathers nicely, and the conditioner left my hair feeling silky smooth. I have long hair, so I did need around two pumps of each product to cover it entirely; however, with a 300 ml bottle, it’s still going to last you a long time.
Whilst hair growth takes time – I’ll update you on this aspect in a few months – I have certainly noticed a difference in the health of my scalp. I’m guilty of overindulging in dry shampoo and hairspray; Luxuriant’s shampoo was fantastic at clearing my scalp of any product residue. My scalp feels clean and non-itchy. The conditioner left my hair soft to the touch, and my colour was left intact. For me, that’s all I could ask for from my shampoo and conditioner.
I finished my hair care routine with Luxuriant Hair Protection Serum
Following the shampoo and conditioner, I used Luxuriant’s Protective Hair Serum. I massaged a few drops throughout my scalp and down to the ends. Surprisingly, whilst not its purpose, the serum brought my natural wave out more, something that hasn’t happened in a while. Again, the scent was fresh, making sniffing my hair at regular periods mandatory.
Once blow-dried and styled, I dispersed some more serum throughout my hair, concentrating on the ends to get a nice smooth finish. I’ll be honest, my ‘much in need of a hair cut’ ends were happy to receive some extra love and nourishment.
For anyone who has suffered hair loss (I have Chronic Telogen Effluvium) over the years, the serum contains DHT blockers to encourage the growth of the hair follicles; absolutely welcome when extra hair is what you’re longing for.
I’ve found the serum a fantastic addition to my hair care routine, so I’ve started using it on my daughter’s hair too.
It’s a yes for hair care, but what about Luxuriant’s skincare? I also tried their Herbal Soap.
The fresh-smelling Herbal Soap helps reduce acne, blackheads and skin rashes whilst restoring the skin’s PH balance and hydrating. It’s free of anything that will irritate the skin, making it great for anyone who wants to tackle spots but finds blemish solutions too abrasive and drying.
The soap is also a good option for anyone (and I’ve heard my fair share of people say it) that soap and water are all they use on their face – this soap is non-stripping and will provide you with something extra whilst not compromising a no-fuss skincare routine.
Personally, I don’t use soap for my face, preferring oils, but I did try it and was pleased with the result; especially at how well it removed my makeup. The soap is for the face and body; I used it in the shower and thought it would be great for any back acne that SPF use, self-tan, or lack of exfoliation can cause.

Final thoughts…
I’ve never focused on using Asian herbs in my beauty products before; however, now I understand the many proven benefits, they are something I will continue to seek, and Luxuriant will be my first stop.
